  •   SB 200, the Safety in Youth Sports Act, was sent to the Governor's desk on November 1 to be signed into law.  The bill aims to ensure that male and female student athletes who suffer concussions receive proper care and rest before they get back into the game.  

  • Rep. Bill Adolph (R-Delaware) introduced a Resolution designating the week of October 23 through 29, 2011, as "Respiratory Care Week" in Pennsylvania and commending respiratory therapists for their outstanding contributions to health care.

  • On Tuesday, October 25, respiratory care therapists and students gathered in Harrisburg for a legislative day at the Capitol.  Volunteers came from across the state to meet with freshman legislators and inform our elected officials about what respiratory care therapists are and what it is that they do.  The group advocated for cleaning up exemption in the Clean Indoor Air bill, increasing patient access to care, and ensuring that Tobacco Settlement Fund monies are allocated towards their intended purpo

  • On October 7, members of the PA Association of Nurse Anesthetists and Peg Callahan joined Senator Robert Tomlinson (R-Bucks) at the Torresdale Frankford Country Club.

  •  SB 200, the Safety in Youth Sports Act, passed the House on October 5 and is headed to the Senate for concurrence, then to the Governor for his signature.  The bill aims to ensure that male and female student athletes who suffer concussions receive proper care and rest before they get back into the game.  

  • On Friday, June 17,  The Winter Group hosted a reception for U.S. Senator Bob Casey at Zia's in Harrisburg. Several clients were in attendence.

  • On Thursday, June 16 Longwood Gardens held a ceremony to commission their new solar field in Kennett Square, PA. The 1.5 MW solar installation will produce enough electricity to offset the usage of about 138 PA homes and help Longwood Gardens reduce their carbon dioxide footprint. The Winter Group played a crucial role in helping to secure funding to make the solar field possible.

    A group of chiropractic doctors and assistants visited legislators to discuss legislation that would limit the time period in which insurance providers can conduct reviews of claims paid and about the ongoing problem of excessive and multiple co-payments for health services.
