On June 30, the general appropriations bill was passed by both the House and Senate.
The Governor said he will sign the budget bill once the remaining budget-related bills have been approved by both chambers. Those bills include the Fiscal Code, which defines the parameters of how General Appropriations funds are to be allocated, and the jobs bill, otherwise known as the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) project authorization bill.
It is not yet certain when these bills will make it to the Governor's desk.
Governor Rendell and other legislators are pushing the US Congress to approve additional Medicaid assistance which is necessary for the approved budget to work.
