New Poll on U.S. Senate Race

According to the newest Rasmussen Report released on Wednesday, Republican Pat Toomey has an 8 point lead over Democrat Joe Sestak in the race for Pennsylvania's open U.S. Senate seat. This is a slightly larger lead for Toomey than Rasmussen reported last month.

The data in this report was gathered from 500 likely voters with a 4 point margin of error.

U.S. Senate Passes Small Business Credit Resolution

In U.S. Senate news, the chamber passed House Resolution 5297, known as the Small Business Jobs and Credit Act. The Resolution passed the House earlier in the summer but the Senate Democrats were just now able to break a Republican filibuster that was stopping the vote. The Resolution will create a near $30 billion government fund to help open lending for small business with no or little credit, cut their taxes and increase small business administration loans. This plan is expected to help expand hiring and boost the economy.
