Democrats To Appeal Redistricting Map
This week Senate Democrats announced that they will appeal the recent redistricting plan that was signed into law by Governor Corbett last month. Their appeal is expected to be filed today or Monday with oral arguments scheduled for later in January. According to the Morning Call, Senator Jay Costa (D-Allegheny) said, "We have concerns about the manner in which the process worked out and the way the maps were drawn." They are mostly concerned about how the redistricting moved a Democratic Senate seat from western PA to the Poconos area.
