Senate Democrats Push Child Abuse Bills

This week Senate Democrats offered recommendations to strengthen laws to protect children from sex abuse. Senator Judy Schwank (D-Berks) said the measures would cover four areas - reporting, prevention, process and penalties. The caucus hopes the General Assembly and the Bipartisan Commission on Child Protection take their measures into consideration soon.

Poll on Governor's Job Approval

A new Quinnipiac University poll was released, giving Governor Corbett a 47-34 overall job approval rating. This is a similar result from just a month ago - 46-31. the poll also asked voters about the Governor's handling of the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse case and they gave a job approval rating of 38-36.

The poll surveyed 1,453 voters from Nov. 28 - Dec. 5.
