Texting While Driving Ban Bill on Governor's Desk

This week the legislature approved a bill that would ban texting while driving in Pennsylvania. Gov. Corbett plans to sign the bill. It would make it illegal to send, receive or read a text while driving with a penalty of $50 if caught. It would be a primary offense. The new law would take effect 120 days after the Governor signs the bill.

October Collections Below Estimate

Yesterday the Department of Revenue reported that PA collected $1.8 billion in General Fund revenue for the month of October. This is 3.6% below estimated collection.
