House Republicans Present Their Budget Proposal
House Republicans unveiled their budget proposal this week keeping the spending number the same as Governor Corbett's proposal at $27.3 billion. However the House R's version cuts $471 million from the Department of Welfare and doesn't cut education funding as much as Corbett's plan. Later that day on the House floor, Majority Appropriations Chairman Bill Adolph said budget bill will be scheduled for vote week of May 23. Amendments must be filed by May 16.
The House & Senate will reconvene on Monday, May 23 at 1:00 pm.
