Nemacolin To Be Next Casino Site
Yesterday the state's Gaming Control Board awarded the final casino-resort license to Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, PA. This will be PA's 11th casino and is scheduled to open in about 9 months.
Democrats Offer A Budget Plan
Also yesterday Senate Democrats presented an alternative budget plan to Gov. Corbett's. Their plan includes merging departments within the Department of Corrections, consolidating the state's various prescription drug purchases, and approving a tax on Marcellus Shale drilling. Gov. Corbett said he would listen to the Democrats alternatives as long as the overall budget number remains the same at $27.3 billion.
