Bill To Expend adultBasic

This week Senator Mike Stack (D-Philadelphia), other legislators, and advocates revealed legislation that will use the General Assembly’s emergency surplus to fund adultBasic until April 2012.About 400,000 Pennsylvanians benefit from the program that is set to expire in the beginning of March.

PennWATCH Bill Sent To Senate

This week the House passed HB 15 which calls for creation of an online spending database called PennWATCH. PennWATCH will let anyone check on the spending of state agencies, a fulfillment of Governor Corbett's goal to make government spending more transparent. The current form of the legislation calls for the website to be up and running by August 31 of this year.

The bill has been sent to the Senate, where reports show Senate leaders support the legislation.
